2014年1月18日口语考试的解析。各位考生可以结合2014年1月18日的托福机经一起复习。

Task 1

Title:
You friend is concerned about a presentation that he has to give to the class. What advice would you give to help your friend to prepare for the presentation?

解析:
这道独立题与预测题第9题类似,由improve score改为worry about presentation. 注意回答时候对整体结构的把握。主旨句+2个观点。这道题目难度中等。

参考答案
There are a couple of suggestions that I will give to my friends if he or she is worried about the presentation.
First one is to have rehearsals before the class. By having rehearsals it will give a chance to practice as well as correcting the mistake in the presentation. If he or she runs the slides a couple of times, it will definitely boost the confidence.
Another suggestion that I would give is to try a few jokes at the beginning of the presentation. It will relax the presenter, also loose up the crowd a bit which will make the show much smooth.

Task 2

Title:
Some teachers allow students to send questions about course work or assignments by e-mail. Other teachers prefer that students ask these questions in person. Which do you think is better? Explain why.

解题思路:

Ask questions in person
1. Some of the course work or assignment is online, so it makes better sense to do the questioning via emails.
2. It is hard to meet the schedule both fits the prof and the students, office hours sometimes is limited.
1. Better in-person communication.
2. Leave a good impression.

参考答案
As for me, I would prefer to send the question via emails.
First of all, lots of university assignment and project is completed online, so it makes better sense to ask the question if you had any through emails. An email could carry tons of information, charts, and data, files, which makes this process much easier and efficient.
Another thing is that in college, sometime it’s to meet the schedule, which suits both the professor and students. Quite frankly, the professors are really busy and the students also are engaged with tons of schoolwork. Asking questions in person sometimes might not be idealistic.

学校用电keep heated, 对环境不好,有两种措施。1. Windows change into well-insulted. 2. 关闭开到9点的教室
The man agrees.
1. Some old buildings are really cold. 坐在窗边都能感受到冷,窗户不保暖,赞同更换窗户。
2. 赞同关闭到9点的教室,因为学生只是occasionally在教室有活到,这些活动可以改到library.

Reading
Listening
Synomone: Any substance produced by an individual of one species that benefits both the producer and the recipient which is of a different species.
Examples: 一种鱼和另一种生物共生,polyps and clown fish.

Task 5
问题:
男生周末前要完成American literature的paper, 但周六他妈妈过生日,要在家办party.
解决措施:
1. Call the parents and explain. Cons: feels bad if he is not here.
2. 带paper回家写。Cons: distracted

Task 6

Title
Two ways让单一的行为或活动more enjoyable.
回答思路:
1. variety. Eg: 喜欢hiking,每天同样的trail无聊,可以试着换不同的路线。
2. timing of frequency. Eg: 每天吃改成一周吃两次。
